Trans World Educational Experiences Package for Glasgow Schools
As part of our arrangement with Trans World Educational Experiences , we are happy for them to use the GSFA platform to announce an exclusive package, available to schools within GSFA. Details Here!
James Crawford Cup
For the last few years GSFA have introduced a Knock Out Cup competition for those schools with small rolls. This competition is played at U15 level but is not prescriptive in that respect.
Some of you may not have had an u15's team this year but feel that they have some S3 boys who could combine with S2 boys and represent their school at this level. Others may feel that they wish to test their u14 team in readiness for next seasons rigours in Division 3. The choice is entirely up to the school.
The two previous finals, won by Whitehill (2015) and St Mungo's Academy (2016), have been played at 'Murray Park' kindly provided by Rangers FC and this year they have offered GSFA a date in May for this years final.
The GSFA have looked at the criteria and wish to invite the undernoted teams to compete for the JAMES CRAWFORD CUP. Named in honour of an illustrious Past President and great servant of GSFA.
Help will be offered for suitable dates, venues and referees for all the knock out games.
If you feel that your school would like to compete this year, please reply to this email as soon as possible. Mr Stewart McLachlan will also contact the schools once an interest has been shown.
There is also a stagnation in Affiliation Fees being paid to GSFA. If you are a Glasgow School and your AFA believes there is a pecos problem, please show him/her the new arrangements that are now in place.
(The Procurement Document attached here). .
Final Days have been set aside for May 6th and 13th at Loretto Playing fields, with a possibility of one or two senior grounds also being used mid week around that time. I will keep everyone updated.
Withdrawal of Teams:
Please see immediately below consequences of withdrawals........and failure to complete a fixture..
Division 1,Section A
Glasgow Academy have withdrawn from Div1 section A.
Division 1,Section F
The withdrawal of Rosshall from Div1 section F means that only two teams will be deciding that Section.
With that in mind the runner up in Div1 section F will be required to play the best runner up from the other divisions as an extra playoff game.
This game will be held as soon as all results are known and be at a venue and time conducive to GSFA and both teams involved, but will be held during week beginning 20th March.
Division 5,Section C
All Saints’ have withdrawn from Div5 section C.
Crookston Cup, 2nd Round
As a result of Bannerman u14's and Bishopbriggs u14's failing to arrange their Crookston Cup 2nd round, both have been eliminated and as a consequence St Mungo's u14's have progressed to the semi final of that trophy.
